"For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” - Galatians 5:13-14
We Serve Each Other
The word "ministry" means "to serve." At VBC, we are excited to serve one another as family members serve each other. If you become part of our church family, you will be served by our members and you will get the opportunity to serve them. We believe that the ministry that Jesus has called His church to do cannot be accomplished by one person, a team, or a committee. It requires every member. And King Jesus has gifted every church member so that they might serve one another for the common good (1 Corinthians 12). Here are some examples of how we serve one another:
Prepare meals for each other during major life events
Visit one another, especially those who are sick or shut-in
Pray for each other regularly and provide prayer requests through lists and one-calls
Provide physical needs during times of financial difficulty
Provide spiritual guidance and counseling
Parking Ministry - directing traffic in order to provide parking spaces, greeting, and answering questions
Ushers - Help take up offering
Finance, House & Grounds, and other teams help ensure our facilities are clean and functioning efficiently
Breakfast - classes take turns preparing for breakfast
Monthly we prepare over 100 meals and distribute them to our communities' housebound residents
